Gimini, the cricket, was hiding in Pinocchio's ear, watching over him to make sure he would behave like a proper boy. "Well, since you are alive and moving now, we better get you to school, where all the good boys go."Īnd so Gepetto sent Pinocchio to school, buying him nice clothes and books he needed. "You are alive! That is amazing! I named you Pinocchio, but if you don't like it, you can change it." Gepetto was surprised, and even frightened at the moment, but once he realized that he was a part of a great miracle, he embraced Pinocchio, and hugged him. Pinocchio opened his eyes and said, "Hi, Papa!" "How did he end up here?" Gepetto was wandering, as he was took the puppet back to where he had left it. When Gepetto woke up the next morning, he was more than surprised, as he knew he had left the puppet on the table. Pinocchio entered the room where his father was sleeping and decided to lie next to him and fall asleep. "Bye, Blue Fairy!" Pinocchio was waving at her as the fairy disappeared. Just call "The Blue Fairy" and I will come. "Now I have to leave, but I will be around when you need me.
"Hello, Pinocchio! My name is Gimini, and I will be your guide." She showed him the cricket, and the little cricket jumped on the table, bowed, and said: "Another thing you need to know," said the fairy, "is that all boys have a conscience, so that they don't do bad things, so until you get one yourself, I am giving you this cricket to show you your way." I will be around when you need me, and to make sure that you won't lie, I will make your nose grow whenever you try. The fairy continued, warning Pinocchio, "I could make you a real boy, but you would have to behave like a real, good boy. "Gepetto is one of the kindest men I've ever gotten the chance to meet. "But, I am not a real boy? What if he doesn't love me?" The little wooden boy was worried. "Hello, Pinocchio," said the fairy, "Your father loved you so much, so I wanted to give him a beautiful gift and make you come to life." She touched the doll with her magic wand, and all of the sudden, the wooden boy started blinking. Once Gepetto was asleep, a strange light shined upon the puppet, and out of the blue, a beautiful fairy came in. "Pinocchio is perfect, I think! Your name will be Pinocchio!" He kissed the puppet and went to bed. "What should we name you?" he asked himself, while he was observing the wooden boy. He brought the log home and started working on it, making a lovely, wooden boy. The log had a little heart carved in it, so the old puppeteer took it.
He approached it to see what had happened, and that was when he saw the log that remained after the lightning. One day, when he was in the forest looking for the perfect tree, lightning struck and hit one of the trees. He loved children very much, even though he never had one, and every puppet he made was intended to cheer up a child somewhere.Įvery time he decided to make a puppet, Gepetto would first go to the forest to cut wood and clean a log. He used to make the most beautiful puppets his town had ever seen, but he was very lonely. There was an old puppeteer named Gepetto.
